Question 1

What is almost™?

Accepted Answer

almost™ is an 18+ travel connection app built around timing. It helps travelers discover people whose airport trips overlap and connect for professional, platonic, or romantic reasons.

Question 2

How does almost™ work?

Accepted Answer

Add your airport trips and travel dates. almost™ shows you eligible people whose travel overlaps with yours and who share compatible connection preferences. If there is mutual interest, you connect and can start a conversation.

Question 3

Is almost™ a dating app?

Accepted Answer

almost™ is not a traditional dating app. It is a travel connection platform for professional, platonic, or romantic connections. You choose what you are open to.

Question 4

Who can use almost™?

Accepted Answer

You must be at least 18 years old.

Question 5

Does almost™ track my location?

Accepted Answer

No. almost™ does not use real-time GPS or background location tracking. You manually enter your airport and travel dates. The app does not automatically confirm that you are physically at an airport.

Question 6

What is an overlap?

Accepted Answer

An overlap means that the trip details you entered share an airport and relevant travel timing with another eligible user's trip.

Question 7

Can I connect before my trip?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Once you add travel details, you can view eligible overlaps and connect before traveling, subject to verification and feature availability.

Question 8

What if I have no overlaps yet?

Accepted Answer

It means no eligible traveler currently matches your trip details and preferences. Your trip remains available, and the app may notify you when an overlap appears.

Question 9

How do connections work?

Accepted Answer

Connections require mutual interest. Direct messaging opens after both users choose to connect, subject to free or Plus conversation limits.

Question 10

Can I add unlimited trips?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Unlimited trip entry is available to all users.

Question 11

Can I control whether I appear in Discovery for each trip?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Each trip is Discoverable by default when you add it. You can turn Discoverable on or off separately for each trip. When it is on, your profile may appear to eligible travelers based on that trip and compatible connection preferences. When it is off, your profile will not appear in Discovery based on that trip.

Question 12

Can I delete a trip?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Open the trip screen for that trip and select Delete Trip.

Question 13

Is verification required?

Accepted Answer

You may continue without verification to create your profile, add trips, view overlaps, and read eligible Airboards. You must complete verification to appear in Discovery, connect with other travelers, post or reply on Airboards, and use other verified-only features.

Question 14

What happens during verification?

Accepted Answer

You take one still selfie inside the app. No video is recorded or submitted. The selfie is compared with up to three profile photos using Amazon Rekognition CompareFaces. Amazon returns similarity percentages. almost™—not Amazon—applies the decision rules: Verified: every profile photo compared scores at least 90%; Manual review: at least one photo scores 75% or higher, but not every photo reaches 90%; or Rejected: no photo reaches 75%.

Question 15

Does Amazon store my selfie?

Accepted Answer

Not through the CompareFaces operation. CompareFaces is a non-storage operation, so Amazon does not retain the input images or results on almost™'s behalf through that operation. almost™ stores the selfie, each similarity percentage, the result, the attempt number, and the attempt date in private storage.

Question 16

Who can see my verification selfie?

Accepted Answer

You can see it in your account. An authorized almost™ moderator can see it only if a manual review is required. Other users cannot see it, and it never appears on your public profile.

Question 17

Is a biometric template created?

Accepted Answer

No. almost™ does not create or retain a reusable biometric template or face vector. It retains the still selfie and comparison records described above.

Question 18

How many times can I try?

Accepted Answer

You may make up to five verification attempts during a rolling 24-hour period. You cannot retry while an attempt is awaiting manual review or after you are verified.

Question 19

Does verification expire?

Accepted Answer

No. Verification currently does not expire. Changing a profile photo does not automatically require reverification.

Question 20

What does the verified badge mean?

Accepted Answer

It means the submitted selfie met almost™'s face-match requirements against the profile photos on the account at the time of verification. It is not a government-ID check, background check, proof of age, or guarantee of a person's safety or intentions.

Question 21

Can I delete only my verification information?

Accepted Answer

There is no in-app option to delete only verification information while keeping verified status. Verification information is deleted within 30 days after account deletion, subject to information we are legally permitted or required to retain. Privacy rights vary by location; contact privacy@getalmost.com with a legally applicable request.

Question 22

What is an Airboard?

Accepted Answer

An Airboard is a shared message board for a specific airport and trip. Every supported airport has its own board, and you can access only boards connected to airports in trips you added.

Question 23

When can I access an Airboard?

Accepted Answer

Free users can read a connected Airboard beginning seven days before the trip. almost™ Plus users can access it as soon as they add the qualifying trip. The board closes at 11:59 p.m. on the trip date in the airport's local time.

Question 24

Who can read, post, and reply?

Accepted Answer

Eligible free users can read Airboards. Posting and replying require both an active almost™ Plus subscription and completed face-match verification.

Question 25

What can I post?

Accepted Answer

Airboards support text messages and emoji. Photo uploads, video uploads, and reaction buttons are not supported.

Question 26

What information appears with my post?

Accepted Answer

Your first name, profile photo, and verified badge are visible to users who can access the board.

Question 27

How long do posts remain visible?

Accepted Answer

Posts and replies stop being visible when the board closes at 11:59 p.m. on the trip date in the airport's local time. They are not automatically deleted from almost™'s internal records.

Question 28

Can I delete my own Airboard message?

Accepted Answer

No. Self-service deletion of Airboard messages is not currently available. Review your message before posting. You may report a safety or privacy concern to support.

Question 29

What happens if my Plus subscription ends during a trip?

Accepted Answer

Your Airboard access becomes read-only immediately. You can still see the board and content already posted, including your own messages, until the board closes, but you cannot post or reply.

Question 30

Can I report or block someone?

Accepted Answer

You can report an Airboard post or reply. Blocking may be available from the user's profile or another supported account surface rather than directly from the message. Blocking hides the blocked person's Airboard posts, replies, and airport people-list card from you, hides yours from them, and prevents supported interactions.

Question 31

How is Airboard content moderated?

Accepted Answer

Messages appear without advance approval. After posting, AI in the admin system may flag content or suggest an action. An authorized administrator makes the final decision and may remove content or restrict, suspend, or ban an account. There is currently no formal appeal process.

Question 32

Is almost™ free?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The free tier currently includes: A basic profile; Unlimited trip entry; Current overlaps; Up to five active conversations; Seven-day upcoming-trip visibility; and Read-only access to eligible Airboards.

Question 33

What is included with almost™ Plus?

Accepted Answer

Plus currently includes: Unlimited active conversations and messaging; Unlimited upcoming-trip visibility; Complete available past-trip visibility while subscribed; Airboard access as soon as a qualifying trip is added; Airboard posting and replying for verified users; and Early access to selected new features. All users can add unlimited trips. Plus does not include advanced filters or premium profile placement.

Question 34

How much does Plus cost?

Accepted Answer

Monthly: $9.99 per month Annual: $79.99 per year — save $40 per year compared with twelve monthly payments Applicable taxes may be added. There is no free trial or introductory period unless a written promotion specifically says otherwise.

Question 35

Does Plus renew automatically?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Monthly and annual subscriptions automatically renew for the same billing period unless canceled before renewal.

Question 36

How do I subscribe, manage, or cancel?

Accepted Answer

Stripe Checkout opens in your device's web browser. You manage or cancel the subscription through the Stripe subscription-management flow. Cancellation normally takes effect at the end of the paid billing period, and Plus remains active until then. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.

Question 37

What happens when Plus expires?

Accepted Answer

Your account returns to the free tier, and Plus-only features stop being available. This includes unlimited active conversations, unlimited upcoming-trip visibility, complete available past-trip visibility, early Airboard access, and Airboard posting and replying. Airboard posts you already made may remain visible until the related board closes.

Question 38

Are refunds available?

Accepted Answer

Payments are generally nonrefundable, and partial billing periods are not prorated, except where required by law. almost™ reviews refund requests individually. Contact support@getalmost.com.

Question 39

Does almost™ store my card information?

Accepted Answer

No. Card details are entered on Stripe's secure checkout page and remain with Stripe. almost™ stores the non-card records needed to manage Plus, including your account, Stripe customer, subscription and invoice references; plan and subscription status; invoice status; currency; list price; discounts; amount charged; promotion code and coupon information; billing-period and payment-coverage dates; cancellation information; and the date an invoice was paid.

Question 40

Does almost™ conduct background checks?

Accepted Answer

No. Face-match verification is not a criminal background check, government-ID check, or safety guarantee. Use good judgment and follow standard precautions when communicating or meeting in person.

Question 41

How do I report a problem?

Accepted Answer

Use the available in-app Report feature. For additional help, email support@getalmost.com. If anyone is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services.

Question 42

What happens when I block someone?

Accepted Answer

Blocking prevents supported interactions and hides each person's profile or content from the other where the feature applies, including Airboard posts, replies, and airport people-list cards.

Question 43

How do I delete my account?

Accepted Answer

Use the account-deletion option in the app. If you have Plus, confirm that the Stripe subscription is canceled so it will not renew. Data deletion and retention are described in the Privacy Policy.
